I am an experienced Primary and Secondary teacher who offers Primary to Year 10 tuition in Maths and English (Literacy/Reading). I have Victorian Institute of Teachers and Working with Children cards: the latter required by Victorian law.
I visit students (primary, secondary and adult) in their homes in outer South-Eastern Melbourne and West Gippsland.
My interest in the individual learning needs of each student has prompted me to abandon mass-produced worksheets long ago. (Students and their parents can always find those in expensive textbooks or online for free.)
My success is based on finding the specific learning issues of every student, and then introducing effective techniques and materials for the student to improve their own learning in their family setting.
A challenge I enjoying facing is that posed by students who are reluctant to receive help. Parents wish to find a tutor who can turn this reluctance around. I am happy to say that I always require confirmation from the student (as well as the parent) that my help is wanted.
I don't require a contract, so I have to meet your requirements from the very first class. Depending on location, I offer a no-charge, no-obligation visit to meet and discuss the learning requirements of your student.
